Art Deco Emerald & Diamond Convertible Sautoir, by Mellerio Dits Meller, circa 1930

Art Deco Emerald & Diamond Convertible Sautoir, by Mellerio Dits Meller,
circa 1930

Colombian Emerald approximately 4.60 carats, and Diamonds approximately 16 carats

For more than four centuries, Mellerio has provided exceptional jewellery to some of history’s most powerful families. With patrons including Marie de Medici, Queen Marie Antoinette, Queen Isabella of Spain, and Empress Josephine, wife of Napoleon, Mellerio knew how to convey strength and beauty through bold design. Centering a vibrant Colombian emerald, the pendant frames the stone with chevrons and circles, geometric designs inspired by the hexagonal shape of the emerald. Worn as a sautoir with an elaborate diamond chain echoing the design of the pendant, the jewel is beautiful and impactful. The ingenious design allows the necklace to be taken apart and worn as three bracelets, or as a shorter necklace with or without the pendant, bringing unusual versatility to the magnificent jewel.

Art Deco Ruby, Sapphire, & Diamond Bracelet, by Cartier,
circa 1930

Diamonds approximately 30.20 carats

Designed and made by Cartier in Paris, this magnificent bracelet is a celebration of exquisite stone cutting by a master maker. Featuring a flexible strap bracelet adorned with a glittering field of diamonds and punctuated by colourful calibre-cut rubies and sapphires. The pave-set field of round diamonds is subtly broken up by areas of square French cuts placed to give the impression that a line of rubies weaves playfully underneath creating a sense of fluid movement. The bold geometric design and masterful use of stone cuts marks this piece as exceptional.
